Water bottles are filling our landfills

Water bottles are deadly for the environment. Right now there are billions of bottles sitting in landfills that won't bio-degrade for hundreds of years. It's not a good scene. But where there is a problem, a solution is often not long to follow.

A new type of bottled water is now on the market: BIOTA Colorado Pure Spring Water.

Unlike conventional petroleum-based plastic bottles that never decompose, BIOTA bottles are made with a corn-based polymer. The material breaks down in landfills in about 75 days.

Now it is just a matter of time before these bottles spread to soft drink manufacturers and other bottlers and eventually other packaging as well.
