Oil Slicks, Birds and Soap

Proctor and Gamble have signed a three-year deal with Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research to teach people how to wash birds after an oil spill. It is estimated that up to half a million birds die in oil spills every year, but with proper knowledge on how to clean the birds, thousands could be saved.

It turns out that when they clean up after the oil slicks that volunteers have found Dawn detergent is the best to clean the dirty birds. They have been using Dawn for over 20 years now, including during the Exxon-Valdez spill.

A portion of the proceeds of every bottle of Dawn sold will go towards Saving a Duck

Immortality Through Advertising

Muhammed Ali has sold 80% of his name to a marketing company to use as they please for $50 million US.

Muhammed Ali Sells His Soul

Now he can live on forever in ads for Pepsi, McDonalds and DARE (to keep your kids off drugs). The likenesses and names of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley have already been bought by private marketing companies....and they still appear in ads.
